So we set off on our journey with a MAN KAT overlander truck. While we were on the road, we found out that we are able to go off road and off the beaten track. However, we cannot go into the smaller roads and villages. The MAN KAT is just too bulky then, and the range of our bikes (our legs) is limited. And when we have made a camp, the MAN KAT wants to get a rest as well!
So we started thinking to add a vehicle. Some overlanders have motorbikes on the back, but we didn’t see us with the whole family “Vietnam style” on a motorbike. And we don’t have an hyper-overlander with a secret latch with a complete car in it that comes down electrically….
Long story short, we found a nice old explorer, a Land Rover 109 (Series II, wiki), born in 1970 !
Another interesting possibility that arises, is to take people along on our trip for a strech !
To be able to hook it up to the truck, we found a solution in a tow-bar from speedmaster. Sort of obsolete in Europe, but well known in the USA. All reliably customized by Maickel from Speedfactory!
